About Limitless With Lily™

My Story

Once upon a time, I stayed stagnant in bed over experiencing life because I developed health issues that I believed limited my physical abilities. Eventually, I visited a nutritionist who helped me improve my diet. As a result, I developed more energy, confidence, and began to feel better overall. Then, I got into strength training, which is when I first fell in love with movement.

About one year later, I found myself naturally drawn to the art of writing. At just 17 years old, I wrote a book for fun and knew then and there that I wanted to be a writer. So, I decided to move to New York City and pursue this dream, but it wasn’t until I got there that I realized who I truly was.

While living in the city, I ached for the sound of birds, view of trees, and that feeling of solitude you get in nature. Growing up, my dad brought me to the beaches of Cape Cod, ski resorts of Vermont, and hiking trails of New Hampshire. I didn’t realize how much I needed these experiences until they were far out of reach.

Although I love the city and always will, I decided to finish up school in Boston, M.A. and receive my Bachelor of Arts in Publishing and Journalism before moving back to the state I grew up in: New Hampshire. While still in school, I was writing for organizations like Appalachian Mountain Club and Road Scholar Educational Travel. Writing about outdoor adventure fueled my soul.

During my college breaks, I found myself drawn to the mountains, so I started hiking the 4,000 footers in my home state. After summiting Mount Lincoln and Lafayette, I fell completely in love with hiking. To this day, I am up in the White Mountains almost every weekend hiking with my like-minded friends who I met through Hiking Buddies NH 48.

Throughout my journey, I noticed my mental and physical health begin to improve. Making time to move my body has allowed me to grow into who I am meant to be. Now, I’m always seeking out the next adventure and ways I can turn them into valuable stories. I have outgrown my “limits,” and I want to help you do the same.

The Benefits of Exercise

Weight lifting is one of my favorite ways to move my body, combat stress, and feel empowered. I also enjoy going for runs, doing yoga, and of course, hiking. I believe that when you push your body beyond its limits and to that next level, you’re more likely to succeed.

Exercising consistently has various health benefits, such as improved cardiovascular health and stronger muscles. It also reduces feelings of anxiety and depression, improves your mood, energy levels, mindset, and confidence, and decreases your risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. It also gives you an opportunity to connect with a community of like-minded, inspiring individuals, which is my favorite part about it!

Have you ever felt stressed, and as soon as you went for a walk or hike, you noticed all of those negative feelings go away? This happens because when you are in nature, your serotonin levels go up, which makes you feel happy. Trust me, it’s difficult to be in a bad mood when you’re breathing in fresh air, stimulating all of your five senses, and living in the present moment. It’s what peace feels like.

When you combine nature with exercise, it can increase your self-worth, enhance your creativity, and make you feel calmer. As soon as you experience the feeling of moving your body outdoors, you’ll only want more of it.
